There is
There are only basic wasabi-related souvenirs, but there are also a few other things.
They are open all year round and opening during 9:00〜17:20 (16:30), But in winter would be very very cold there, so l just recommend to go there in spring or summer. it's very refreshing to walk around the park and fun to go into a cave at park too! 😁 👍 Have fun!
I can buy it. It was in the left shop at the entrance.
I bought wasabi seaweed called wasabi nori. It was great to put raw eggs on hot white rice.
Nakatatsu
From 09:00 to 17:00
I can only go by bus
Interesting to see how wasabi is grown and in which ways it can be consumed...
Amazing place to visit. Definitely try the Wasabi Croquet or the Wasabi Ice Cream! It's great.
Cool place with all things wasabi but needs more sheltered walkways when rain comes
Had some delecious Wasabi ICE cream. Farm has No Fee. Very nice Wasabi products
Beautiful place with different activities. The kids enjoyed it very much especially a bonfire under snow. Different stalls selling hot food products from the farm were all excellent. We were lucky to see what er n farmer were picking wasabi and cutting them for the market.
Delicious food and beautiful farm.
10minute bike ride from the station. You can rent bicycles at the cafe just as you exit the station. I recommend renting a bike, the ride was a big highlight of the trip with beautiful views of mountains and fields of vegetables. The wasabi farm was interesting. Try the samples and buy a croquette from the stall outside. The croquette is excellent with special wasabi sauce. It was winter when we visited so we stood around a large wood fire to warm up. I also recommend eating at the restaurant there. You can have fresh wasabi which you grate yourself. It is very intense so go easy. Also had a wasabi drink and some Eiwa craft beer.
An interesting farm located in a beautiful valley. I really enjoyed the visit there and took many photos. The wasabi ice cream was also very tasty. Highly recommended.
Very pretty and it's very clean
A quick visit as one was passing and it was closing. Well worth a stop. Interesting products in the shop with sampling. Interesting to see this hot spicy product growing.
Super nice place to walk. Admission is free and we learned a lot about wasabi. The downside is that it's far from Tokyo (3 hours by train) and people don't really speak English very well there.
Good for omiyage with everything you can think of with added wasabi (beer, ice cream, curry, soba,...) but park is small.
Recommend to go if there is nothing else to do. Can observe the way wasabi is grown, and buy many wasabi flavoured or themed items. A little far from the closest station though. I really like the apple soft serve here, strangely enough.
Way better than expected ! Spent twice amount planned time there and tasted the food at the restaurant which offers fresh whole Wasabi 🤩🤩🤩
Wasabi ice cream had a very milky flavour with mild wasabi flavour but it was interesting
Nice place ~
So many resterant already closed when arrived. And almost Wasabi was harvested. But the place is so nice, good vibes, fresh air,and friendly staffs.By the way I will come here again for sure.
Don't trust the closing time on the web site. It is 4:30 in March even if it says 5:20! Still got to purchase lots of interesting wasabi items. Short taxi ride from the train station. If you are in Matsumoto consider this as an extra outing. If it hadn't been raining we would have been more upset about arriving at 4 and having it close at 4:30.
Wasabi plants require clear running water to grow so this farm is a bit different to the usual one you visit. Whilst there isn't much in the way of educational material for English speakers, the Daio Wasabi Farm is simply a beautiful place to wander around. Do seek out the waterwheels by a stream which is postcard perfect, long water weeds waving in the crystal clear water. There are also some interesting wasabi based food options and snacks to buy. It wasn't what we were expecting, but well worth the visit.
Soba and tempura was good. Lots of wasabi options of course. Wasabi beer was kinda interesting! Very subtle wasabi taste. This set with beer was 1570 yen I believe.
5 star for the milk ice cream. Wasabi ice cream, while being one of their signature dishes, the tastes of wasabi and ice cream just don't mix.
Amazing! Beautiful farm. Take train to the village, then hire a (n electric) bike to cycle 2km out there through rice fields...stop at small temple and old house across the road on the way. We were there 1 year ago and still remember it as one of the highlights of our 3 weeks in Japan. Leave at least 1.5-2 hours to walk around. Only problem is that you might leave with an addiction to wasabi:-)
Nice to see how Wasabi grow. Nothing extraordinary here but nice stop on our road trip. We tried many locally made products at the shop.
Amazing place to see what read wasabi looks and tastes like. They have a wide selection of food that has wasabi influence such as wasabi soft serve, set meals with fresh wasabi for you to grind, etc. Very easy to get to - from Hokata Station, either walk (45 mins), bike (20 mins) or taxi (5 mins, ¥1300). Best to walk to the tourist information cente opposite the train station to plan ahead.
Cool wasabi farm but everything you could possibly read is in japanese so keep that in mind. It is impressive and free though
One of my favorite places I visited in Japan! The wasabi ice cream is a must try. This seems to be a popular destination among Japanese tourists, and there weren't many foreign tourists there, but it was very foreigner friendly. I wish there was a cheaper way to get to it from the station than by taxi (2000 yen each way) and maybe there is but it isn't posted on the site or anything.
Although it's a bit of a trek to get here it's well worth it. You can wander at your own pace or have a guided tour. Afterwards theres a great gift shop selling everything wasabi. You can also buy wasabi ice cream or wasabi beer!
Very good facilities and relaxing. Delicious stuff
Really beautiful place. Food is great especially the croquet burger, the croquet has a hint of wasabi and is really flavourful and crispy. It is a definite must come. The wasabi ice cream is depending on yourself. If u like weird and new tastes you'll definitely love it
Beautiful place! I learned a lot about wasabi.Unfortunately, There were no English-speaking instructors.
If you're stopping by the wasabi farm, I'd recommend this restaurant. While there are two onsite, this seemed like the better option. Would recommend the wasabi juice. It sounds strange but its quite sweet and very enjoyable. Plus its likely the only place you can find it. Enjoy!
Grate your own fresh Wasabi. Okay food, vegetarian options are available
Its eye-opening to see how wasabi is grown. However, remember to check the opening hours and if there are any sections that is closed off. Worth trying the wasabi icecream as well.
Very nice place, well taken care of. It’s worth a visit.
